  Population and Development Program
PopDev brings a global feminist analysis to the intersecting spheres of reproductive freedom, environmental justice, international development, and peace.

The Population and Development Program (PopDev) is a small, progressive think tank and activist organization founded in 1986 and housed on Hampshire’s campus.

The program brings a global feminist analysis to the intersecting spheres of reproductive freedom, environmental justice, international development, and peace.

PopDev mentors new social justice organizers in the Five Colleges through the Political Writing Internship Corps, the Reproductive & Environmental Justice Alumni Fellowship, the annual CLPP activist conference, and many other academic and activist opportunities, including courses with Dr. Betsy Hartmann, the program’s director.
