E-Mail Vacation and Forwarding

Vacation auto response messages and e-mail forwarding can be set up for your Hampshire e-mail account in just a minute or two.

Mail forwarding We allow users to forward their Hampshire e-mail to another e-mail account. There will be no copy left behind on our servers and all new e-mail will be delivered to an account you specify.  If using this option, we recommend that you configure your e-mail program to have an option to send mail using your Hampshire account information.  To do this, simply set up an account using your Hampshire account information, but uncheck all checking mail options such as 'check for messages on start up' and 'check mail every x number of minutes.'

Vacation message E-mail will continue to be delivered to your inbox, but each person who sends you mail will receive an automatic reply with your vacation message once a day until you return.

We have a web interface that will allow you to set up e-mail forwarding, vacation messages, and configure the SPAM filter here at intranet.hampshire.edu/mail (login required). By using this web interface, the SPAM filter (when set to delete SPAM) and filter rules will be applied before your mail is forwarded or a vacation reply is sent.  We have tried to make the interface self explanatory, but if you need assistance feel free to contact the Helpdesk by emailing helpdesk@hampshire.edu or call 413.559.5418.
