A Learning Community
From its founding, Hampshire College has been designed as a residential learning community.

We provide:

  • » a dynamic, intellectual learning environment
  • » safe, comfortable housing
  • » support to students in balancing the rights of individuals with the responsibilities of community membership

Our Dorms
Dakin and Merrill Houses respectively house 280 and 247 students in single and double rooms. Most first-year students live in one of these residences.

Our Mods
"Mods" are apartment-style residences, primarily for second, third, and fourth year students. Units have a common living room/dining area, a kitchen, and one, two, or three bathrooms.
