Financial Aid for International Students

An international student is defined as one who is not a citizen or permanent resident alien of the United States. The only assistance available to international students is that which is described on this page.

Hampshire College offers a limited amount of grant aid to international students who show evidence of superior academic achievement and who demonstrate financial need. These grants cover up to the cost of tuition. Students who receive assistance are responsible for any remaining cost of tuition as well as the expense of room, board, fees, transportation, books, supplies, and personal expenses. This grant is renewable for three years, providing the student is enrolled and is making satisfactory academic progress. It cannot be increased in renewal years. Students who do not receive financial aid upon their initial enrollment are not eligible throughout their Hampshire career. College policy prohibits the awarding of new scholarships after enrollment.

You and your parents must complete, sign and submit all of the following forms by our January 15 deadline. The deadline refers to the receipt date, not the postmark date. Be sure to use U.S. dollars when completing these documents.

1. 2008-2009 International Student Financial Aid Application.  This application must be completed by each parent if your parents are not together.

2. Certification of Finances.  This is required for all international applications.

International applicants are notified of their admissions and financial aid decisions in mid-March. Accepted student must confirm their intention to enroll by May 1 with payment of a non-refundable deposit.
