The key to making study abroad financially feasible is planning ahead. Research scholarships and funding options well in advance, and consider combining multiple sources of funding. Below are some resources to get you started:

Diversity Abroad Scholarships/Grants
Because Hampshire is a member of Diversity Abroad, Hampshire College students are eligible for select Diversity Abroad scholarships. Diversityabroad.com has partnered with several organizations to offer study abroad grants and scholarships. See their website for a list of scholarships offered for minority students, first generation students, low-income students, and students with disabilities.
International Education Financial Aid (IEFA)

A list of fellowships, grants, and scholarships available through different departments and offices on campus. Some may be used to fund outside study or internships. - Study Abroad Programs
Many study abroad providers and international institutions offer scholarships and grants that students can apply for along with their application to the program. Some examples include SIT (School for International Training), CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange), API (Academic Programs International), IFSA-Butler (Institute for Study Abroad - Butler University), USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium), Mente Argentina, and TEAN (The Education Abroad Network).
- Study Abroad Scholarships
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Award
This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a two- or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. Award recipients receive up to $5,000. Students who apply for and receive the Gilman Scholarship are now eligible to receive an additional $3,000 "Critical Need Language" supplement from the Gilman Program for a total possible award of up to $8,000. Boren Awards for International Study
Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to add an important international and language component to their educations. Boren Scholarships are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), which focuses on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study deemed critical to U.S. national security. Note that NSEP grants have a service obligation.
Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) Scholarships
The Fund for Education Abroad in committed to increasing the opportunities for dedicated American students to participate in high-quality, rigorous education-abroad programs by reducing financial restrictions. FEA offers a general scholarship with award amounts up to $10,000 as well as two dedicated scholarships.
GO Overseas Study Abroad Scholarships
Open to all current or aspiring study abroad students. The scholarships are awarded based on the creativity and analytical thinking displayed through writing samples and/or video submissions.
Rotary Foundation Scholarships
The Rotary Foundation provides the largest single U.S. scholarship program for study abroad. Scholarships are available for all levels of study, including high school, undergraduate, and graduate, as well as to alums and professionals. Application possible only through local Rotary Clubs.Giva Corporate Student Scholarships
