Hampshire Women, Minority, and International Scientists

The Women in Science Program at Hampshire was developed in the 1970s with a commitment to increasing the numbers of women in all levels of study and participation in science.

The group's focus very quickly expanded to include students of color in science. In addition, because the population of international students at Hampshire is relatively small, the program naturally expanded to include international students as well.

Two active groups now exist on campus: the Women in Science Program and the SCIENCES Network.

These programs have developed courses and organized discussions and activities to examine factors that influence participation of those groups who are underrepresented in science.
