Liev Schreiber 85F’s Whiskey Brand Embraces a Broader Purpose

The Hampshire College alum and acclaimed actor and director Liev Schreiber 85F has a new venture with a purpose greater than simply selling whiskey. Sláinte, cofounded by Schreiber and entrepreneur Richard Davies, supports humanitarian efforts in Ukraine with every bottle sold. The donation goes directly to the organization BlueCheck Ukraine, which was launched in March 2022 in response to the Russian invasion. The non-profit organization identifies, vets, and fast-tracks urgent financial support to Ukrainian NGOs and aid initiatives providing critical assistance on the front lines of the war.

"Plenty of celebrities have liquor brands," Schreiber said in a recent interview for Inc. "To be frank, I was hesitant to become one of them. But I do want to help people in Ukraine, and hopefully support other causes in the future. It's all about coming together, and the idea of a drink whose name stands for good health, for strong connections, for people getting together, while also supporting such an important cause."

Named for the Irish toast, Sláinte pays homage to Ireland’s rich whiskey-making heritage. Triple-barreled and triple-distilled, the spirit has flavors of caramel, apricot, and pepper with aromas of apple, vanilla, and warm spice, according to The Boston Globe’s recent review

Schreiber starred in the Showtime drama series Ray Donovan, which earned him five Golden Globe Award nominations and three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He also starred in the 2015 film Spotlight which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, along with Best Original Screenplay.
