Student's Final Project Tackles Spread of Online Disinformation
For his Div III, recent graduate Nick Bythrow 18F wrote a multi-chapter paper examining the divisive rhetoric and disinformation on the image-board website 4Chan.
In his final project, Bythrow took a deep dive into the image-board website 4Chan—infamous for its connection to QAnon and other alt-right conspiracy theories. He analyzed "how the pipeline from 4Chan to [mainstream] social media to reality forms.”
