9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday
We sell stamps! The Hampshire College post office provides most of the services available at the U.S. Post Office. Outgoing USPS mail and on-campus mail slots are located in the post office lobby.
Outgoing U.S. Mail leaves campus, outbound for the Amherst Post Office, at 8:00AM and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Incoming mail is distributed to student mail boxes by 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday.
The post office lobby will be open 24/7 during the semester for access to the student mailboxes and the University of Massachusetts Five College Credit Union ATM.
We also provide UPS (United Parcel Service) Shipping.
In addition, students may send and receive packages through the mail and through UPS. We also receive FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and DHL packages. We can send packages via UPS and the U.S. Mail.
There is a UPS drop box located just behind the Harold F. Johnson Library Building. Pick up time is 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Be aware that the Hampshire College post office accepts only cash as payment.
In order that students may receive mail as quickly as possible, letters and packages should include the student's box number. The box numbers assigned to students will remain the same throughout their Hampshire careers, even if the student lives off campus. Students living off campus should still stop in and check their mailboxes on a regular basis. All on-campus mailings will be distributed to campus mailboxes. Students must learn and memorize their student mailbox combinations.

(Do Not Use The word Box or PO Box in your address, just use the # sign. Thank you!)_
New incoming students are advised to start shipping packages to Hampshire College on August 15, not before.
All U.S. Postal Service mail and packages are received at the Amherst U.S.Post Office. We at the Hampshire College mailroom pick up this mail twice a day. This takes place at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Attention Students: In case of illness, someone else may pick up your mail with your authorization. An email needs to be sent to Postoffice@hampshire.edu. Include your name, mailbox #, and the name of the person who will be coming to get your mail. The person getting the mail should know the box # and combination to open the mailbox. That person must also show an ID at time of pick-up.
The USPS website is a good source for mailing questions as well as looking up zip code information.
We at the Hampshire College post office look forward to providing for your postal and shipping needs.
