Concern, Assessment, Response, Evaluation (CARE) Team

Campus sunset over the mountain

The Concern, Assessment, Response and Evaluation (CARE) team is a student focused resource. It is comprised of staff from the Dean of Students Office, Residence Life and Housing, the Center for Academic Support and Advising, Campus Safety, Counseling Services, and the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services whose goal is to support all students through challenges they may experience during their time at Hampshire. Many supports are available, and the CARE team coordinates response and outreach to empower each student to navigate resources and assist in a plan for their success.

Concerned about a student?

We are here to respond to behavior that may be classified as:
  • Academic Concerns – Concerns related to a student’s studies
  • General Concerns – General concerns about the behavior and/or welfare of a student
  • Family Stress - Issues that occur with family at home such as illness or loss of a loved one
  • Missing Students – Students who have been missing for a period of time
  • Distressed Behavior – The most common, distressed behavior causes us to feel alarmed, upset, or worried
  • Disruptive Behavior – Behavior that interferes or disrupts the educational environment of other students or the normal academic functions of the College
  • Dangerous Behavior – Behavior that causes one to feel frightened and/or in fear of one's personal safety or the safety of others

This is not a system to use for emergencies. If you need to report an emergency or hazardous situation, please call Campus Safety and Security at 413.559.5424 for immediate assistance.
