Film and Video Professor Magda Bermudez 10F Encourages Student to Examine Media and Power
“It’s vital for students to critically reflect on the ways systems of power are inscribed formally in the media they encounter,” Bermudez says. “I’m dedicated to creating courses in which students cultivate their unique cinematic vision and critically engage with the mechanisms behind our media industry toward the development of their own media ethic.”

Hampshire College’s Semester Unbound Creates Campus Climate Action Plan
As part of Hampshire’s recent curricular evolution, which further dissolved the already porous boundaries relating to disciplinary thinking in the College’s academics, a new kind of course, the Semester Unbound, was born. The course, unlike any form of study Hampshire has offered, before gives students the opportunity to tackle a real-world problem from a multitude of angles.

Lorna Hunt Named Chief Information Officer
Hampshire is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorna Hunt, an information technology executive with more than 25 years’ experience in higher education, as chief information officer, a new role at the College. Hunt will report directly to President Ed Wingenbach while serving as the liaison between Hampshire and Ellucian, the College’s IT managed services partner.
