Hampshire College alum and choreographer Stephen Petronio 74F has been named as a 2015 Doris Duke Artist. Petronio and the other awardees will each receive $275,000 in funding as an investment in and celebration of their ongoing contributions to the fields of contemporary dance, theatre, and jazz.

Hampshire College and Cornell University School of Hotel Administration graduate Howard Wein 93F is interviewed on WRSI about his jet-setting journey from chef for the Beastie Boys to becoming a renowned hospitality developer and operator, and his return to the valley to complete his “dream project,” his restaurant the Alvah Stone in Montague, MA.

Student Work Honored at Five College Film Festival

April 6: Rhys Ernst and Faith Soloway from Transparent's Creative Team

Hampshire College will host filmmaker and artist Rhys Ernst and writer and musician Faith Soloway on Monday, April 6. Ernst and Soloway are part of the creative team for Amazon’s groundbreaking series Transparent, winner of 2015 Golden Globes for best comedy series and best actor (Jeffrey Tambor).

Justin Baldwin 08F’s research expanding on his Division III (senior) project was recently featured on the cover of acclaimed ecology journal Oecologia. “This is a huge boost,” Baldwin says.
