Farm and Garden Camp Assistants

The Farm and Garden Camp is run by The Farm Education Collaborative (TFEC) at the Hampshire College Farm each summer. Students interested in staff positions for the camp should apply directly to TFEC.

Work Study Positions (school year)

Livestock Assistant

Job Description: Feed, clean, and tend livestock. Chores include, but are not limited to, feeding and watering animals, gathering and washing eggs, changing bedding, maintaining farm facilities, and assisting with monthly meat share pickups (3 per semester). Hours vary, but generally include regular morning and/or afternoon animal care.

Vegetable Assistant (fall)

Job Description: Harvest, wash, and prepare organic vegetables for the Hampshire College CSA share pickup and delivery to the on-campus dining hall. Hours are 1-4 pm on Mondays and Thursdays and 7-10 am on Friday mornings during harvest season. Must be able to work in the early morning and outdoors in all types of weather.

Vegetable Assistant (spring)

Job description: Assist as needed with seeding, transplanting, and greenhouse weeding and harvesting of spring crops. Hours vary.
