Sharing Our Journey: Women of Color Engaging Our Worlds. An Exhibit of Visual Media, Stories, and Other Work from Hampshire College Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni
The Hampshire College Art Gallery welcomed the public to the exhibit Sharing Our Journey: Women of Color Engaging Our Worlds. An Exhibit of Visual Media, Stories & Other Work from Students, Staff, Faculty, and Alumni.
The exhibit remained in the gallery until Tuesday, February 24, 2009.
The presented work reflected individuals personal journeys with identity, and the show itself sought to examine the ways individuals with specific cultural backgrounds and life experiences see and understand the world around them.
This exhibit was organized as part of a larger program, Academics, Activism, Art, and Ascendancy: Women of Color who Change the World, sponsored by the Hampshire College Board of Trustees to celebrate Florence Ladd for her service to Hampshire and to higher education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and beyond.
The art exhibit was organized by Hampshires Lebron-Wiggins-Pran Cultural Center and the presidents office. Students Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich and Joyce Li and Director of Multicultural & International Student Services Melissa Scheid Frantz were curators.
