"This is an opportunity for the Pioneer Valley community to see a broad range of memorable, independently produced films by a new generation of Hampshire College alums," said Professor Ravett.

Historic Northampton board member Stan Sherer said: "With the inauguration of the Contemporary Art at Historic Northampton exhibition program, we have begun to expand the mission of the museum. Now, with the addition of the Fast Forward film series, we are expanding that mission even further. Our hope is to make Historic Northampton a vibrant and central participant in the city's creative arts and offer a venue for the many talented artists in the region. This new film series highlights the work of some of the exceptional filmmakers who graduated from Hampshire College and are now establishing themselves in the world of contemporary cinema."

Monthly screenings begin September 15 with Erick Msumanje's My Mother's Songs and The Devil's House. All films start at 3 p.m. in the large gallery at Historic Northampton. The series is free and open to the public.
