Prior to Greentown, Boone served as associate vice president of finance at Lesley University, where she implemented campus-wide initiatives in support of streamlined finance and budget operations, transitioned the campus to digital work-flow process, and supported the overall financial success of the institution. Boone was also the chief operating officer for information, technology, and consulting at Dartmouth College, where she was responsible for various aspects of the organization including finance and budget, human resources, facilities, and revenue generation.

Boone has served on the volunteer boards and leadership teams of several youth non-profit associations and is most proud of her work as the president of the Manchester East Cobras, a sports program for inner-city children.

Hampshire College President Ed Wingenbach said of Boone’s appointment, “I am eager and pleased to welcome Tana to Hampshire. Her leadership across such a wide array of finance and operations responsibilities will be a tremendous asset to the College as we continue to drive forward on our financial sustainability plan. In addition, her experience advancing equity and justice will bring a valuable perspective to all aspects of the College’s functions and to the senior leadership team. I’m looking forward to partnering with her to ensure a thriving and vibrant Hampshire for decades to come.”

Boone is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. She holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in human resource management from the University of Phoenix and a master of science in higher education from Kaplan University. She is a HERS (Higher Education Resource Services) alum and obtained a project management certificate from Duke University.

“I am delighted to take on this new role at Hampshire College,” said Boone. “I look forward to working closely with President Wingenbach, the leadership team and the campus community to further the mission of the organization. I believe that teamwork has the incredible power to increase productivity, job satisfaction, and each person’s individual performance.”
