Faculty & Staff

Our priority is supporting students as they navigate this transition. Staff decisions will align with student needs over the next several months. We expect that all current college employees (both faculty and staff) will remain in their current positions through June 15. Final determinations will be made as it becomes clear how many students will participate in the Completion Pathway and what resources (both academic and student life) will be required to support these students.

We are working with our elected officials and state government leaders to activate the MassHire Rapid Response which is a free, proactive state service designed to help employees navigate reductions, layoffs, or closures. The team provides on-site services, such as job placement, retraining, and unemployment assistance to minimize disruption and support dislocated workers. Employees should watch their emails for further information about that.

Faculty who remain on staff will be expected to continue their typical academic, student advising and support roles.

The College will host employee resource events on campus Tuesday, April 28, and Monday, May 18. Employees should check their Hampshire email for detailed information. We are also working on virtual sessions and will update employees as those are scheduled.

Health, vision, and dental benefits for employees impacted by the reduction in force taking place on June 16 will continue according to your plan enrollment through June 30.

You will receive information about COBRA options by mail (to your address on file in ADP) within 10 days following your last day of employment.

TE Central will reach out to all employees over the next few weeks that have dependents actively in the program. This includes the newly approved dependents for 2026-27. Those employees will have the option to purchase membership ($300 per semester remaining for their dependent). TE Central will take over as the liaison and continue to certify eligibility for each dependent. 

If any faculty or staff remaining at Hampshire for fall 2026 will have a dependent eligible for this benefit for the 2027-28 academic year, they too can move forward with applying for schools. Once the College closes in December, they can pay the $300 per semester fee to continue, provided their chosen college approves their dependent for the scholarship. 

Any current tuition remission dependents (parent works at Hampshire and student attends Hampshire) can join Tuition Exchange if their child is going to transfer to another school. This would require a $500 processing fee in addition to the $300 fee per semester of eligibility. 

Note: Fees must be paid in one lump sum.
