Institute For Humane Studies; Humane Studies Fellowship
Description: Provides funding for outstanding graduate and undergraduate students who are committed to developing a free society through their academic work.
Award: Up to $12,000
Eligibility: Must be enrolled full time at an accredited institution; undergrads must be juniors or seniors during the year of funding; graduates must not have completed a Ph.D.; law, M.B.A., and other professional students are eligible.
Application Deadline: Late December (for the following year)
The Princess Grace Foundation-USA
Description: Scholarships, apprenticeships and/or fellowships in theater, playwriting, dance performance, choreography, and film.
Award: Varies, approx. $5,000-$25,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status at the time of application. Additionally, all applicants (except in playwriting) must be nominated by a non-profit organization (school or company) with which they will be affiliated during the grant period.
Application Deadline: Spring (different date for each program)
Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund
Description: Provides need-based grants to undergraduate and graduate students actively working for peace and justice.
Award: Maximum of $6,000; award size depends on number of donors.
Eligibility: Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university; live in the U.S.A.; and be eligible for academic credit.
Application Deadline: April 1
Gallagher Koster Health Careers Scholarship Program
Description: Provides funding for undergraduates who are pursuing a health-related career.
Award: $3,000, paid in two installments, fall and spring.
Eligibility: Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year with a 3.0 or higher GPA and a demonstrated financial need and interest in the health professions.
Application Deadline: Early May
ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship Program
Description: Scholarship program to assist women and minority students who are engaged in full-time study related to computer and video game arts.
Award: Up to $3,000
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, and be a woman or a minority student pursuing a degree in computer and video game arts. Applicant should be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. There is a GPA requirement for this application, but Hampshire students can still apply. You must submit your high school records and test scores (ACT/SAT), and make sure that the rest of your application (activities, recommendations, essay, art/design/game samples) is very strong.

Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship
Description: Scholarship to support undergraduate and graduate projects related to children's media.
Award: $10,000
Eligibility: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment--through coursework or experience--to any combination of at least two of the following fields: early childhood education, child development/child psychology, film/television production, music, animation. Applicant must have the ultimate goal of working in children’s media.
Application Deadline: Late February
Fund for Education Abroad
Description: Offers scholarships to undergraduates who are underrepresented in study abroad and to students planning to study in non-traditional locations.
Award: up to $10,000 for an academic year, $5,000 for a semester, and a minimum of $1,250 for the summer.
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident undergraduate students at a U.S. institution who are planning to study abroad for at least 4 weeks.
Application Deadline: January 10
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Description: Offers awards for undergraduate study abroad.
Award: Up to $5000
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding and are planning to study abroad.
Application Deadline: Early October, early March
Truman Scholarship
Description: Provides funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields.
Award: Up to $30,000
Eligibility: Applicants must U.S. citizens who are college juniors at the time of selection. Applicants must work with a faculty representative (Lynn Miller is the Hampshire faculty rep). Application process begins in October.
