Ella Dunne

Ella Dunne grew up in the Amherst area, building fairy houses and forts in the woods. In 2014 she began her career in a Reggio Emilia preschool in New York City, working with different age groups from infants through pre-K. Each class community and each age group has taught her so much about joy and learning. She earned her MSEd in early childhood education from Hunter College in 2018. In 2020 she moved back to the area so now her own two children could experience life growing up in the woods as she did. She believes fully in the power of play and the capability of young people to be the protagonist in their own learning. Ella views her role as caregiver to be a facilitator, collaborator, and witness to these fabulous beings learning about their world! When not teaching, Ella is typically gardening, learning to cook, or hiking with her family.
