MySchoolBuilding.com is Hampshire College’s maintenance request system. This service allows you to submit building repair requests for your room/hall/mod to our facilities and grounds department online.
Requesting maintenance service in your room or mod authorizes a facilities and grounds worker to enter the area you specify. You do not need to be present for the repair work to be done. Facilities employees normally will not attempt to work in a student’s room or mod before 9 a.m. unless there are special reasons for doing so.
For emergency maintenance issues after business hours, call campus police at x5424.
Please DO NOT call facilities and grounds directly.
Requesting a Repair
If you have never entered a repair request before, follow these steps to set up your requestor name and enter yourself into the system. Don’t forget to bookmark the site!
First Time Sign Up:
1. Right click on this link and choose "Open in New Tab": MySchoolBuilding.com
2. Copy this number, 670970164, and paste into the first box on the new page you see. Click "Submit Organization."
3. Enter your email address in the space provided, then enter your last name when prompted. Click ‘Submit.’
4. Enter your first and last name in the spaces provided. Enter your best contact phone number under "Phone Number." Please do not use the "Cellular Phone" box. Click "Submit."
Entering Your Request:
The following instructions refer to the steps that are listed in red on the left side of the request page.
Only items that also have a red check must be filled out, but these instructions cover all steps.
Step 1: These fields will be filled in by the computer.
Step 2: Dropdown Boxes:
"Location": Choose "Residences"
"Building": Choose your house
"Area": Choose the area within the house (i.e. stairwell, bathroom, bedroom)
"Area/Room Number": Type both your mod/hall and your room number or letter into the box. (i.e. Dakin K115 or Prescott 106A). If the problem is in your common area, please type that in (i.e., Dakin K Hall).
Step 3: Choose the category that fits your problem best. A couple things that are more difficult to guess:
* Refrigerators (including shelves, etc): HVAC
* Gas Stoves: Plumbing
Step 4: Describe the problem in detail. Be as specific as you can about what is happening, and what you see and/or hear. More detail helps us fix problems faster. Please let us know if you prefer to be home when the problem is fixed.
Step 5: You only need to enter a time if you wish to be present when facilities comes.
Step 6: Choose "General Maintenance."
Step 7: No need to enter a date.
Step 8: Not a required step.
Step 9: The password is "password."
Step 10: Click "Submit" to send your request to the HOO. We will check it and route it to the correct folks at facilities and grounds.
You will receive email updates regarding the status of your requested repair.
Non-Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Requests:
Laundry Rooms: For repair requests for washers and dryers in the laundry room, please email email@example.com with the location and problem. Please specify machine by the number (on sticker on front of machine) or by location (i.e. 3rd in from doorway).
Telephones/Internet/Cable: For problems with Hampshire equipment or with the connections in your room or hall/mod, please email your contact info, location, and detailed description of the problem to firstname.lastname@example.org.
