At Hampshire, students work across, between, and without disciplines—and they combine fields to curate their own original course of study.
You were made to make progress. To make connections. To build up, tear down, reconstruct, and make something altogether new.
That's what we were made for, too.
We're looking for the type of student who can't imagine waiting to be told what to do. Our community of self-starters and changemakers is resilient, resourceful, and committed enough to do the deep work of understanding complex problems.
These key elements of the Hampshire experience make it work:
**Hampshire College is open to the public and welcoming visitors. All visitors must follow current state, local, and college regulations when on campus, including wearing face-coverings indoors at all times. Face coverings are also required on campus tours.**
Our admissions process is personalized and holistic, reflecting the values embodied in our educational curriculum. We will not consider SAT/ACT scores in any way as part of our admissions and financial-aid decisions.

"There are two reasons why Hampshire graduates achieve so much. One is the kind of person the college attracts. The other is what the college does for them by equipping them to become their own wide-ranging explorers and connection-seekers."
