Hampshire College participates in the National Student Loan Clearinghouse. This is an agency that electronically notifies your loan servicer of any enrollment changes you may experience while at Hampshire. Because of this, our students do not need to provide any paper deferment forms to their loan servicer if one returns to school after a leave of absence or to notify them when one graduates or withdraws from Hampshire. Hampshire College's office of central records will process these notifications automatically each semester.
In addition to the notification of the Direct Loan servicers, the Clearinghouse also notifies all of the major Stafford and alternative loan lenders in the country.
