Advising Hampshire Exchange and Field Study in Div II

Students may include off-campus study at any time during the Division II. Faculty can encourage students to take advantage of opportunities to study abroad or elsewhere in the U.S., either on Hampshire Exchange or on Field Study.

Hampshire Exchange

International and domestic Hampshire Exchange Programs have been developed to complement our academic program. Students pay Hampshire College regular tuition and, depending on the program, possible room and board. A travel stipend relative to their destinations is also awarded.  Student Financial Services' website has information on how financial aid works for Hampshire Exchange, also known as "Leave Exchange".

Field Study

All other semester programs and opportunities fall into the Field Study category. Students independently locate a program, internship, or research opportunity that will enhance their academic pursuits. The student is responsible for a Field Study Fee of 1/3 of Hampshire's semester tuition, plus any expenses incurred while on Field Study (i.e. program fees, travel and living expenses while away). Student Financial Services' website has information on how financial aid works for Field Study.

Visit (or refer students to) Hampshire Exchange Programs, Field Study Semester, or Short-Term Field Courses  for more details about off-campus study.
