To comply with Massachusetts state regulations, all students are automatically charged for and enrolled in the annual student health insurance plan through Gallagher. Visit the College's health and counseling services page to understand choices regarding health insurance coverage.
If you do not waive the student health insurance plan by the deadline at www.gallagherstudent.com/Hampshire (access for new students is December 1, 2017), the insurance charge will remain on the student bill as a balance due.
Fees charged for the student health insurance plan are separate from the health services fee, which pays for using the College's on-campus health and counseling services.
All currently enrolled Hampshire College students can access medical and mental health office visits at the Hampshire College Health Services with no office visit charges, regardless of insurance coverage. Lab tests are sent to and billed from the University of Massachusetts Health Services laboratory. Students are responsible for any non-covered charges for lab tests.
The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) offered by the College is designed to minimize any out of pocket expenses for students and covers all lab tests, x-rays, and office visits on campus and at the University of Massachusetts Health Services on evenings and weekends. Students who waive the SHIP, may incur additional charges for deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurances. These medical charges will be added to the student’s account at Hampshire and must be paid in full by the end of the semester.
