Hampshire College and Vermont Law School Environmental Law and Policy Scholarship

While the deadline has passed for 2022, you can start considering the application to start in 2023!

Are you considering a master's degree or a law degree with a focus on:

  • environmental law and policy?
  • food and agriculture law and policy?
  • energy regulation and law?
  • restorative justice (newly added!)

Apply for a full-tuition scholarship for a master's and/or a J.D. degree from Vermont Law School (VLS), which is consistently ranked as having the country's top environmental law program.

Each year, Hampshire can recommend one student or recent alum (up to 10 years out) for one of two scholarship opportunities:

  • One-year Full Scholarship for a VLS Masters Program in: Environmental Law and Policy (MELP); Food and Agriculture Law and Policy (MFALP); Energy Regulation and Law (MERL); or Restorative Justice (MARJ)
  • Three-year Full Scholarship for a VLS Juris Doctor (J.D.) program or Joint J.D./Master's. The JD funding can be for less than three years, but not more. The master's degree can be in one of the above program.

At Vermont Law School, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in environmental work…. I remain connected to VLS and am currently on the VLS observer delegation, which is preparing to go to Lima, Peru for the climate conferences in December! …Vermont Law is an inspiring community full of hard-working and passionate learners, much like Hampshire. For a graduate-level education in the environmental sector, Vermont Law is simply unmatched.
