The Dining Commons will continue to be open for meals during closed days.
If a snowstorm happens before classes begin or offices open, the President, in close coordination with the director of facilities and grounds, will decide about closing or delaying the opening of the College. This decision is based on weather forecasts and the conditions of parking lots, paths, and roads on campus. If a decision is made to close or delay opening, this decision will be made, when feasible, by 6:30 a.m.
If a snowstorm happens during the day, the director of facilities and grounds will consult with the offices of the dean of faculty, the President, the dean of students, and finance and administration about the impact of the early closing on the academic program.
When the College is closed due to weather or other emergency, all staff, other than essential personnel, are asked to refrain from being on campus, for their own safety and to not impede the work of facilities and grounds.
Due to safety issues, when there is a delayed opening, the College respectfully requests that only employees designated as "essential personnel" come to campus until the College is open. When the College closes early, all staff with the exception of essential personnel, are expected to leave in accordance with the closing time.
Employees are encouraged to use their judgment when making decisions about safety and travel conditions. Staff should notify their supervisor if they are unable to get to work or unable to complete their scheduled work day.
The Emergency Notification System automatically sends emergency alert messages, including closings and delays, via email to all students, faculty, and staff. Update your contact info on TheHub to receive these alerts via text and voice as well.
