Returning From Leave, Exchange, or Field Study

Quick Link: Fall 2015 Housing Preference Form for students returning from leave, field study, or exchange for the fall 2015 semester. Once it is submitted, you should receive a receipt email confirming your application has been received. If you do no receive this email within twenty-four hours of submitting this form please contact housing@hampshire.edu.

Students wishing to return to full-time enrollment must notify the Center for Academic Support and Advising prior to the Enrollment Notification Deadline.

Shortly after spring break, students will receive an email at their Hampshire email address with a link to the housing preference form and instructions on how to apply for an exemption to the residency requirement. The application for an exemption to the residency requirement is due by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 3. The deadline to submit the housing preference form in time to participate in the housing lottery (see instructions below) is Friday, April 17. Otherwise, the preference form can be submitted at any time and students will be placed based on availability at the discretion of the HOO. Please refer to the important dates and deadlines page for details on when these forms are due.

The arrival date for the fall semester is Monday, September 7 (Labor Day). Final housing assignments will be available on TheHub no later than August 15. Arrival details will be sent to students' Hampshire email addresses a few weeks before arrival.

Those who are away for the spring hoping to participate in the housing lottery. Shortly after spring break all students currently on leave, field study, or exchange will receive an email (at their Hampshire email address) with instructions on how to be housed for the fall, including how to participate in the lottery if they so choose. Students will be asked to fill out a housing preference form, which will include a spot to name a "proxy," a student who is currently enrolled at Hampshire who can act on their behalf during the lottery.

Wondering what room you've been assigned to? Housing assignments will be available on TheHub no later than one week prior to students' arrival on campus.

Previously lived off campus? If a student has previously been assigned to off-campus status, that student will retain that status automatically. To return to campus housing, students must file a return to campus request and housing preference form.
