Three Honored by Princess Grace Foundation-USA

Hampshire College student Allison Waite (pictured right) and alums Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich and Meredith Lackey are winners of 2014 Princess Grace Awards.

Waite won an Undergraduate Film Scholarship, and Hunt-Ehrlich won a Graduate School Scholarship. Hunt-Ehrlich, who is the daughter of Hampshire music professor Marty Ehrlich, is a graduate student at Temple University. Lackey, who is a graduate student at the University of Illinois, Chicago, received a film honorarium.

In total, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is awarding nearly $1 million to artists in theater, dance performance, choreography, and film. The awards continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during her lifetime.

This year’s winners will be presented their awards in Los Angeles at the 32nd annual Princess Grace Awards Gala held in the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco on October 8, 2014.

This is the third consecutive year that a Hampshire College student has won a Princess Grace Award to support a film project: Devyn Manibo won in 2013 and Erick Msumanje in 2012. Josh Weissbach received an award in 2009.
