In August 2017 Hampshire College officially took over management of the Hampstore, which means the College owns and operates the facility. The Hampstore is a gift shop, convenience store, and small grocery all in one. In addition to the store on the ground floor of the library, Hampshire gifts and gear can be found online.
The Hampstore accepts cash, credit cards, and the Hampshire OneCard for payment of items in the store. All fully enrolled students whose accounts are up-to-date with the student accounts office may charge purchases using their OneCard; these charges will appear on your billing statement and must be paid within 30 days. Students may also use their Café Card funds in the store. Employees of the College who utilize their Hampshire OneCard for payments will have the charges withheld via payroll deduction.
The College has partnered with Amherst Books in downtown Amherst for textbook purchases.
New for 2020: While Amherst Books is closed for browsing, students may shop by filling out the online form: http://hamp.it/amherstbooks (login required). Students may use their OneCard to pay for purchases with their student account or can pay with a credit or debit card over the phone. Please complete one form per class for which you are ordering textbooks. Once books arrive on campus, students will receive a notice in their campus box to pick up their package during campus post office window hours. Student account charges are posted daily on The Hub.
Not on campus? Amherst Books has curbside pickup available or is able to ship via USPS for a small shipping fee.
Please note: Amherst Books is not able to accept returns on course books this year.
Faculty may submit textbook requests to Amherst Books using their online form, by email, or by printing out a PDF Requisition Form. Call 413.256.1547 or 800.503.5865 or fax to 413.256.1621. Faculty can find more details on Amherst Books faculty services page.
