Health and Counseling Services (HCS) provides primary care and mental health services to Hampshire College students, when school is in session.
If you are in a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Hours & Information
Summer and Winter Break:
How to find medical and mental health care over breaks
- Over the summer and during winter break, the HCS administrative office remains open but clinical staff are not available for medical or mental health appointments.
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–noon and 1–4:30 p.m. (Closed daily from noon–1 p.m. for lunch)
- Location: On the east side of the campus, across from the Red Barn
- Appointments: HCS re-opens for appointments in Mid-August
Services
Hampshire College Health and Counseling Services offers:
- Diagnosis and treatment of common college student illnesses and injuries (UTI, sore throat, sprained ankle, mono, etc.)
- Individual and group psychotherapy
- Prescription pick-up (delivery from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Pharmacy)
- ADHD/ADD coaching and medication management
- Alcohol and substance use assessment
- Immunizations including HPV, flu shots, and travel vaccines
- Referrals to and coordination of specialist care
- Sexual Health exams, STI testing, and PrEP
- Birth control and emergency contraception
- Gender Affirming Treatment
- Sexual assault counseling and support
- Smoking cessation resources and support

- University of Massachusetts Health Services: The UHS Walk-In Clinic (WIC), is open 11 a.m.–5 p.m. on weekends. It is also open for Monday–Friday for after-hours care until 8 p.m. To be seen in the WIC please join the virtual waiting room, and you will be informed of your appointment time.
