Hampshire Affiliated Programs
Affiliated programs are sponsored by Hampshire in that they are administered by the global education office. These semester or year-long programs have either been designed by Hampshire faculty or were created through an affiliation with an academic institution that complements Hampshire’s academic program in some way. They offer a variety of opportunities for language study, community engagement, coursework, independent research projects, internships, and more! Participation in an exchange program is considered a full semester of enrollment that will count toward graduation.
Eligibility
- Division II and first semester Division III students are eligible to participate
- Program-specific restrictions may apply
- Students must be in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing to qualify for a semester of study abroad.
- Review detailed information on eligibility requirements and policies in the Hampshire College Handbook under Exchange, Field Study, and Short-term Field Courses
Planning
Students interested in a Hampshire an affiliated program work with their faculty committees to make sure the program aligns with the student's concentration and academic goals. Students are also expected to meet with the GEO program advisor or faculty program director to discuss their plans and expectations, learn more about the details of the program and the environment, and understand the application requirements. Students should consider fulfilling divisional requirements through exchange, such as:
- Community Engaged Learning (CEL-2) (div II)
- Race and Power requirement (div II)
- Advanced Educational Activity (div III)
