New for Fall 2014: R29 PVTA bus route to Downtown Holyoke and the Holyoke Mall
Starting fall 2014, the PVTA has added a new line, the R29, that runs from Amherst to Holyoke, via Hampshire College. A cash fare is required to take this bus. See the R29 bus schedule for more details.
Community Partnerships for Social Change (CPSC) and the Community Engagement and Collaborative Learning (CECL) Network coordinate two vans to make off-campus internships, work-study jobs, and partnership projects more accessible to students, particularly to areas where there is little or no public transportation. Though students placed through CPSC are the priority, the vans can also be used by other members of the Hampshire community if there are available times. Each van has space for 7 passengers plus 1 driver.
There are multiple ways you can reserve a van, but please see the options listed below to determine which reservation works for you. Keep in mind that any student, staff, or faculty member must be a trained defensive driver in order to drive any Hampshire vehicle.
You must identify a defensive driver for any van reservation.
To become a defensive driver:
- Input your information into the Five College Risk Management Database. We use this database to check the eligibility of faculty, staff, and student drivers.
- Take a defensive driving course through the Robert Crown Center (RCC), 413.559.5470.
