Remaining on campus after residences close is not permitted, except in extenuating circumstances as outlined below. Please contact the housing operations office at email@example.com if you have specific questions.
Late stay can be granted by approval at the end of the fall semester when the Five College exam schedule extends past the date of Hampshire campus closing, and for certain travel circumstances. Hampshire College residences close Thursday, December 19 at 9pm. Students requesting to stay on campus later than this time must submit this form prior to 4pm on Wednesday, December 18. Students with final papers, take-home or self-scheduled exams at other colleges must depart by 9pm on December 19.
Students requesting to stay due to travel or hardship must complete this request form by providing an explanation of their situation. No student may remain past noon on December 20. Students traveling by plane, train, or bus must provide a copy of their itinerary in the space provided. Approval for late stay will be given based on need and individual circumstance. We do not guarantee every request will be approved. Responses to all requests will be sent by email to your Hampshire College email address. Approvals will include the departure date you have been approved for, which may be different than the date you requested.
Application information will be distributed during the semester via Hampshire email, and the Important Dates and Deadlines page. The application can be found at http://hoo.hampshire.edu by clicking on the "Late Stay" tab, which will appear in late November or early December when the application opens.
All students are permitted to remain on campus after the exam period through 10 a.m. on the morning following commencement. No extensions to this deadline will be granted. Students must make travel and summer housing plans accordingly.
